Voluntarily maintained by local children, teens and adults with developmental challenges and disabilities
Research supports the many benefits an outdoor garden space provides to the special needs population which includes improved physical strength and fitness, increased confidence, stress reduction, social awareness and relationship building.
We welcome all of those who are differently abled, and their families/caregivers, who wish to help keep our garden in bloom. If you are interested in volunteering time please complete the registration form below. You will be contacted with a scheduled day(s) and time(s). All volunteers MUST consent to the information below.
VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION FORM
1) I wish to partake and involve my family/caregivers as volunteers in the Abilities in Bloom, Inc. community garden.
2) I understand that I must provide adult supervision to anyone under the age of 18 while participating.
3) I acknowledge that we voluntarily choose to participate and assume all risks of harm, injury, or loss due to participation.
4) I give consent and authority to Abilities in Bloom, Inc. to obtain medical treatment on our behalf if injured or require medical attention during participation in this activity. I understand and agree that we are solely responsible for all costs related to such medical treatment, transportation, and evacuation. I fully release, discharge, and hold harmless Abilities in Bloom, Inc. and it’s partners for any claim whatsoever in connection with such treatment or other medical services.
5) I fully release and discharge Abilities in Bloom, Inc., Down Syndrome Association Hudson Valley and the Town of Gardiner, NY from any and all claims, suits, demands, causes of action, damages, or liability for any injury, accident, or harm which is in any way related to my participation.
6) I understand that by clicking the Submit button below this constitutes a legal signature. I confirm, acknowledge and agree to all of the terms.
